Trelew Woods

Sometimes, well regularly actually, I ask myself why I still live in Cornwall after all this time, and genuinely can't think of a reason why I'm still here. It's culturally remote, it's geographically remote, it's economically depressed, it's full of retired people, there are no mountains, no teaching jobs...then I go for a walk (but not on the coast, 'cos I'm fed up with that!) and I see woods full of flowers, like Trelew above, and the 'despair' of being here disappears for a while. But the ransomes and bluebells only last a couple of weeks... But, then I'll have the foxgloves and the campions to look forward to, and the woods are literally only 5 minutes walk from home. I suppose it can't get better than that really, can it?
