Minor disaster averted...

Well, kind of... I managed to get my mould open with a bit of scalpel work, but broke the keys off when I took the two halves apart. I've begun pouring wax into the mould in the hope of opening it to find a perfect little green robin inside. It was a vain hope. So far I've achieved four sludgy green messes, although where the wax has taken in the mould you can see wonderful fine detail. A case of crap mould making I suspect. Oh dear.

I'm going to start another mould this afternoon and have had to butcher a swallow (dead of course) in the name of art. In order to make the mould more likely to work I've had to cut his little legs off. It took just a swift chop with the scalpel- and my eyes brimmed with tears...

Time for a late lunch. Will be back soon.
