Celebration Cake

Yeh! Those elusive electricians finally turned up this afternoon and fixed the oven. I thought I'd celebrate and bake a Swiss roll, which I haven't done since I was at school. I thought it would be good practice before I make a Yule log with Kim next week, to get us into the festive spirit. Well, that was the plan. I was feeling a bit Nigella when I dreamed that one up, obviously... There's a reason I've avoided baking Swill rolls since school - and here it is in full colour!

Undeterred by the look of the brick, Kim dug in - his verdict: "lovely Mummy". My verdict: "sickly", but desperately funny. Think I'll stick to drawing in future - and see what Yule logs are in store at Tesco.
