Website update
Over the last few days I've got back into designing a website for my artwork again. I've a cunning plan to get it up and running before Christmas, on my computer that is. I'll wait until the new year before it goes live - I envisage many hours sorting out a host and all that sort of stuff. However someone near and dear thinks I should just do it for free by sticking it on MySpace or something similar. I haven't really checked out myspace, but I thought it wasn't much different from a blog. I want something with it's own domain name anyway. You may recall the web site I once had on a free server...there are so many things you can't control - like adverts and how much and when you can load stuff on. Boring! So, what I've been doing over this weekend and today is making a template for my index page, and finally I'm pretty pleased with the result. It's similar to the original design I posted a while ago (left), but better - well, I think so anyway! It's on a dark background now (but still white where the text is), the masthead is smaller, but the piece-de-resistance is the image...it's no longer just an image but a slide-show. I feel very proud of myself for not only finding some free javascript for the purpose, but also being able to customise it without any problems (maybe I am a genius after all?!!!!!). In fact the site I found it on is so good that I thought I must write this post and share it with all you self-appointed web-designer-come-artists out there...
