Narrative Self: Kim gets wet

Wednesday is Kim's cub night and last night they went sailing and kayaking - Kim's first time. We trundled off to Loe Beach near Truro for two hours of fun and water games, half expecting it to be cancelled because the weather had been pretty poor. When we got there though the water was calm (freezing!) and there wasn't much wind so there was nothing to stop them. They played all sorts of games, including kayaking-man-over-board - it was good to note that Kim didn't need any practice at that, since he'd already been man over board three times by then... Rather than go home while he was getting wet I decided to stay and wait/watch, but realised too late that I'd forgotten several things: a decent book to read when they'd gone so far out you couldn't see them, a flask of something hot (it was sooo cold for June), an umbrella (there were some very heavy downpours), and a towel (probably a bit obvious that one!)...
