Last Xmas (ie 2006) the creme eggs came in the delivery two days before Xmas. The manager told us to put them out in prime position by the counter. Both of us refused, saying no one had had Xmas yet and there was no need to ram such commercialisation down everyone's throats, we should let them have Xmas and enjoy it for what it is. We won, sort of. They did go on display but out of sight near the back door.
This year the creme eggs also came before xmas day but not my shift so they went on fairly prominent display. And Easter stuff came straight after Xmas. "Team Lift" display boxes of the stuff. Sick eh. I always hope that the shelf space will be well wasted until a week before Easter. But chocoholics seem to destroy this hope.
Steph - resolve not to buy ONE easter chocolate one before easter!
I hereby promise I absolutely will not buy an easter egg before easter, even though I am one of them there chocoholics you mention!
Do you remember "in our day" when advent calendars had pretty angels behind the doors, not chocolate?! I showed Kim one I had when I was about his age and he nearly fell off his chair..."where's the dalek?"!!!
