Girls night in

Last night was the night out, except of course that it was a girls' night in. Our fabulous hostess with the mostest created wonderful food and a beautiful ambiance for the night's festivities, which began fairly raucously and degenerated from there on in. It wasn't just the flowing wine that seemed to get everybody going: digging into our hostesses cd collection was a riot! The sophisticated French music (je ne veux pas travailler - a sentiment I defy any one not to agree with) and Italian opera rapidly turned into Dolly Parton, The Bee Gees, Squeeze, Madonna, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The Cure... (need I go on?!). Through the alcoholic fug a full on 80's night seemed to have begun (scary)... Amongst all the cheesy music were one or two gems that got me feeling very nostalgic and reaching for the wine bottle, including Jolene and That's Entertainment, aaaaw! I suspect that 10 women 'singing' at the tops of their voices could give the stray dog howling a run for its money any day :) We carried on annoying the neighbours into the wee small hours; consequently today has been a lazy one, laying about the house like an adolescent...no doubt mirroring last night's adolescent inspired excesses!
