Pissed off

I am pissed off with the world and its wife telling me what I should be, what I should do and how I should live my life. I AM AN ARTIST. I will live my life as an artist and if the rest of the world doesn't like it, the rest of the world can sod off and get over it.

I would say "Yes, yes, yes!"

But then you would probably accuse me of daring to have an opinion about your life.

However, I get such a lot of sh*t from others about my art form and end up ignoring all of it (but the crap always sticks a bit doesn't it?).

So, nevertheless, I reckon I'm a bit qualified to agree.

Creativity is about risk taking, isn't it?

OK, I've had my say. Now you can delete my comment :-)

Hi Rob!

Thanks for coming back. I have to say I agree entirely with you: creativity is all about risk. And I'm sure those that offer suggestions as to my financial well being (ie get a 'proper' job!) mean well, but being financially happy only satisfies a tiny percentage of the whole; making art gives meaning to my whole life and what's the point of life without meaning? (I struggle with that one all the time, and conclude that there is actually no point to life, you just have to do something that is meaningful and fulfilling to you.)

Essentially I've found that people want you to conform to their ideas of what happiness is: 2.4 kids, nice car, own home, holidays abroad every year, because it makes them feel more comfortable. If you do what they do, they don't have to question anything. Well, other people may not have the 'intellectual' struggle that I do every day with all the questions I ask myself, they may believe the way they choose to live their lives is simpler, but I believe that living life like that just misses all the richness there is.

So, to sum up, I don't think we should ignore them any more, Rob - I think we should tell them to sod off!!!

You made me laugh :-)

It was good!

'proper' job!'

How often have I heard that.

Imagine a place only filled with creative type people.

Sounds like bohemia to me.

But I doubt the rubbish would be put out on Mondays.

Must go! Got to feed the one eyed monster and possibly a few human beings looking for something to refresh their pedantic, bean counting days.

Live long!

:-)
